Department of Environmental Science
Global and local environmental issues are big problems for us to solve in the 21st Century. To realize the harmonious co-existence of human beings and nature, and to live a fruitful life, the causes and the mechanisms for the various problems related to Human Life and the Environment have to be investigated. Since environmental problems generally result from the interplay of various causes, collaboration by researchers in various scientific fields is needed for quantifying these problems. The Department of Environmental Science is focused on the analysis of problems of Human Life and the Environment through studies in the four academic fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematical information sciences. Our goal is to prepare experts and researchers with a global knowledge of science and the ability to quantify various problems concerned with human life and the environment. The Department of Environmental Science offers two advanced courses of study (the Life Science course and the Materials Science course), which are undertaken after basic science education. Graduates of our department are active in a broad range of research areas in companies and universities, and also as junior high school and high school teachers, government workers, IT company employees, and so on. |
